WHY I'M BORROWING
To pay £8400 balance off MBNA credit card which will change from 0% to 29.9% at the beginning of November. I would have moved to another 0% deal but what do you know? There's a banking crisis on.

Whilst I can afford to make the new repayments, 29.9% just seems ludacris.

WHY I'M A SAFE PAIR OF HANDS
Never any late or missed payments on any of my accounts. Unfortunately my credit status has been marred by trying to shop around for the best deal. I have recently checked the report and came back excellent other than on searches - in particular when I bought my car on HP in July there were a few different searches conducted as I wanted to get the rate down so applied to two or three different houses.

I am also a genuinely honest person! My partner is a Police Officer and I'm a Chartered Accountant. Although please don't let that hinder your opinion on me!

THE STATE OF MY FINANCES
I used credit cards a lot in the past which is why I have been moving the balances. I'm in a secure job earning good money, and relatively early on in my progression so can expect decent pay rises year on year.

However, after the frivolous spending of my youth I now wish to concentrate on clearing down all debts so that I can start chipping away at my mortgage.

I currently have three credit card accounts, including the MBNA account, although the other two are on low fixed rate for life of balance - I have tried to increase the limit in order to get the same deal for the MBNA card but was unable to do so to enough extent.

All cards are actually cut up and disposed of, all my spending is now done using debit card as I have come to realise this is much cheaper!
