What is Zopa?

Zopa is a lending and borrowing exchange where real people sidestep the banks to get a better deal. It's a smarter, fairer and altogether more human way of managing your money, where borrowers get a great rate and flexible terms and lenders get a great return and can control who their money is lent to. We approach customer service in a transparent and sociable way, as well as looking for new ways to engage and help our members.

The Role

We are very proud of our Customer Service here at Zopa, and we're grateful that our members think so – so much so that they voted us 'Best Personal Loan Provider for Service' at the Moneywise Customer Service Awards. To help maintain this level of service for our users, we're looking for an enthusiastic individual to head up our Member Services team in our Central London office.

Primarily this means being the first point of contact for customers via telephone and email, helping them feel comfortable with how Zopa works and understand why we're a great place to lend and borrow money. You will be competent, articulate and will have a very personable manner, being able to deal with all variety of customers from the inquisitive to the uncertain. You'll also be responsible for the day-to-day management of the team, ensuring our Member Services functions are operating efficiently, monitoring trends and continually improving how we communicate with our customers.

This position would be a great opportunity for someone who has good experience in customer service and is looking for a new challenge working for a fast-growing and innovative online company.

Personal Requirements

You'll need to be able to demonstrate the following attributes:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with close attention to detail
  • Professional but friendly phone manner
  • Can show leadership and motivate a team
  • IT literate, including experience with Microsoft Office
  • Numerate (ideally A-level Mathematics or equivalent)
  • Ability to prioritise and multi-task
  • Ability to offer simple explanations to complex issues

Supplementary to this, we're interested if you have experience in any of the following:

  • Analysing numerical data and drawing insights from them
  • Querying databases and using Excel to structure and analyse data

Salary circa £26k based on experience. 25 days annual leave.
