Performance of Zopa listings to date
Zopa listings were launched in October 2007 and unlike the Zopa markets, Listings borrowers are not allocated to an A* - Y risk profile since Zopa doesn't provide bad debt estimates for them. This is because Listings are intended to allow lenders to make their evaluations of a borrower's ability to repay a loan. Zopa does still ensure that each borrower passes our minimum criteria and that their Listing accurately reflects their current financial circumstances.
On each listing, Zopa also provides lenders with information on a borrower's credit score, affordability and stability, using a star rating for each on a scale up to five.
So how are listings performing in terms of bad debts?
The charts below show how bad debt on Listings is performing against the star ratings that each Listings borrower has had. It is important to bear in mind that these are still very small data sample sizes, so any conclusions to be made are indicative only and should not be considered statistically significant. However, there does appear to be some correlation between bad debts and Credit Score ratings while a pattern is yet to emerge in the data for Affordability and Stability.

Credit Score
|
Credit Score is an internal credit rating that we award each borrower, based on their credit score at Equifax (a UK credit reference agency). Zero stars show a very low credit score relative to other Zopa borrowers, 5 stars show a top notch credit score. |

Affordability
|
Here, we assess how affordable this loan will be for the borrower using the income details that they provide along with data from Equifax (a UK credit reference agency). Zero stars show very poor affordability once all other credit commitments and cost of living are considered, while 5 stars show comfortable affordability for this loan. |

Stability
|
The Stability score is based on details provided by the borrowers and shows how settled they are in terms of employment and residence. Zero stars reflect a recent history of quite regular movements, and 5 stars show a very settled recent past for the borrower. |
