February Edition
|
|

There was only one thing everyone was talking
about in February - the
snow! Whether you loved it or hated it, it certainly got people talking.
Elsewhere, everyone raised their eyebrows at
this story about 13 year old Alfie Patten, and after Todd Carty performed
this number on Dancing
on Ice, the YouTube video received over a million hits in just a week...
Zopa has also had it's fair share of media attention this month. We're in the
Sunday Times, the
The Evening Standard,
This Is Money and
The Times. Soon we'll be demanding an agent and M&M's with all
the brown ones removed in our interviews.
We made a bit of a mistake last month and told you we were called Zopa UK on Facebook.
We're actually called Zopa Finance - oops. You can add us as a friend
here.
And last but not least, don't forget our birthday party next Thursday! We sent out
official invitations a couple of days ago that you'll need to print off and bring
along with you to claim your free drink, so make sure you've received it.

£500 for the privilege?
We're launching a competition to find the best 2 video clips - one from a lender
and one from a borrower - explaining the how Zopa works clearly and simply. All
you need to do is film the clip, upload it to YouTube and send us the link by Friday
27th March. To find out more, please click here.

Did you know... that every year, more people are killed by vending
machines than sharks?

Last month, we asked you if you were planning
to come to our birthday party. Lots and lots of you were keen, so we're getting
a bit over excited about seeing you all next week. (We're allowed - we are only
4, after all.) We also discovered that Zopa members far prefer marmalade and marmite
to peanut butter and jam. Controversial stuff!
We'd like to pick your brains again this month too.

Did you know... that the cigarette lighter was invented before
the match?

We've got yet another addition to the team
this month, this time in the operations department.
Lucy is here to help answer your queries, but whatever you do don't
ask her whether her geography degree was 'just colouring in', or if she knows what
the capital of Namibia is. (In case you're wondering, the answer to both is emphatically
'no'.)
She's addicted to sweets, tea and toast, and once bumped into a shark while diving
off the Great Barrier Reef. The best way to annoy her is to ask her where she's
from - the answer is England, and if you then ask 'Yes, but originally?' - it's
still England!

Did you know... that more Poles live in Chicago than in any city
in Poland besides Warsaw?

ideas for stories, please send an email to jennifer@zopa.com
