The News This Month
Here are some of the best excuses. Meanwhile, The Sun focussed its efforts reporting the break up of Peter Andre and Jordan, and dreams of Europe were scuppered at the very last minute for Chelsea fans.
Boris Johnson nearly came to grief on his bike, Nick Griffin was uninvited from the Queen's garden party and not very many people caught swine flu.

Zopa's also been busy, featuring in The Independent, Money Magpie, and Reader's Digest. We star in a new video on Love Money, and we also were presented with an honorary Webby Award.

Don't forget, you can befriend us and follow our random musings on Facebook (we're called Zopa Finance) or Twitter (Zopa UK, just to confuse you). And if you have something you'd like to say about your Zopa experience, you can leave a review for us on Moneysupermarket.

Global Giving
Do you fancy going off the beaten track on your next holiday - and for free?

Zopa have teamed up with GlobalGiving, the online charity market place, who are giving away a trip for two to a grass roots project of your choice. All you have to do is write up to 100 words about an act of kindness you have experienced whilst travelling abroad to be in with a chance of winning.
So if you've ever been given a lift to the beach by a kindly local, or invited in for a beer, let us know about it! You can find out more about the competition and share your experiences here.

Last month, we asked you what you were up to over the bank holiday weekends. Most of you opted for some DIY - and the majority of you told us that you would be holidaying in the UK this summer. If that's you, have a look at our blog for some ideas.

We'd like to pick your brains on some random topics again this month.

Click on any of the links below to place your vote, and to see the results of previous polls:

This month, we found out that we had been awarded the Payroll Giving Quality Mark Gold Award for our commitment to good causes. This means that over 10% of our employee's are making donations through the Payroll Giving Scheme each month to the charity of their choice.
You can donate as little as £1, and it's deducted before tax - you can see how to get involved here.

Zopa and Good Energy

Hot on the heels of Prime, Zopa have a brand new flavour of Listings which will be going live shortly.
We've teamed up with Good Energy (link), the UK's only dedicated 100% renewable electricity supplier.
They'll be sending their members who are looking to generate their own renewable energy, for example using solar panels or wind turbines, to Zopa Listings for financial assistance with the initial installation. Not only will they become completely self-sufficient in their energy needs, but they'll also be able to sell any unused energy back to Good Energy to make an income.

And they've got a special bonus for Zopa members at the mo' - if you sign up to Good Energy via Zopa you will receive a free owl monitor, worth £34.95, to show you exactly how much energy you're using. Click here (link) to find out more.
